Every moment of your vacation should be special. Memorable. In order to make that happen? You will need to do some planning. Take a trip to the Philippines for example. You want a sure-fire way to maximize your time there. This can be tricky. There is so much to see and do. The solution? Have a well thought out travel itinerary on hand. Not sure where to begin? What to do during your trip? Start with these four must-see attractions. They are guaranteed to make any Philippines vacation feel special, memorable, and downright exciting.
- Banaue Rice Terraces
There is nothing like natural beauty. Seeing picturesque views up close and personal. One of the best places to do just that? At the Banaue Rice Terraces. These are 2000 year-old terraces that were carved into the Iguago Mountains by the indigenous people. The terraces are a whopping 5000 feet above sea level. This spot is still taken care of by locals. They still plant vegetables and rice on the terraces. As for visiting the Banaue Rice Terraces? Tourists can see them in person (be sure to bring along your camera!) or partake in some of the on-sight attractions. There are sightseeing trips, visits to the tribes, traditional healing methods, and more.
- San Agustin Church
Feel like adding a little history to your trip to the Philippines? Then you will want to make time for San Agustin Church. This is a truly remarkable example of Colonial and Baroque architecture. The Roman Catholic Church is located in the city of Intramuros in Manila. That makes it easy to get to. (There are also many other historic buildings in this area. So keep your eyes peeled!) During your time here you can take pictures of the exterior, go inside, and reflect on all the beauty life has to offer.
- The Island of Borcay
Another area to visit in the Philippines is the island of Borcay. It can be found 315km south of Manila. This island is known for its tourism. There are beautiful white sand beaches, a lively nightlife scene, resorts, and more. Many people come here to relax and get away from it all. You can, too. Make time for activities like parasailing, scuba diving, kite surfing, swimming, and more. There are many different ways to fill your time. Morning, noon, and night.
- Mayon Volcano
Now for another must see spot. The Mayon Volcano (also referred to as Mount Mayon) is well-known thanks to its symmetrical cone shape. The volcano itself as well as the surrounding area is a national park that can be visited by both locals and tourists. The volcano is 2463 metres tall and has had 49-recorded eruptions. What can you do in the area? It is possible to climb the volcano but you need to register to do so. Other activities you can enjoy include hiking, camping, bird watching, and even taking some unforgettable vacation photographs. Something to keep in mind? Be careful when you visit. Rainy season runs from November to January – and conditions can be dangerous.
